This is a practice project on my creative thinking. After completing 3 system maps of nature, technical and emotion, I randomly picked out 3 relations from each of them, mixed them all then created a new relation which definitely did not make any sense at all as it was told in the assignment. The thing is, I was thinking a lot about the final relation that had 3 words I wanted right at the beginning and thinking “welp then just pick out 3 relations that have 3 words I need and nail the assignment”. Fortunately, I was wise in the time to realize it was a process in reverse and I could have missed the point of the course, which is training myself to think systematically in any circumstances, to progress through time as it is how the creative process works. Then I started over and was seriously random, learning to work with what I got. The visual treatment was kinda a lot for me since I edited everything in 3D Blender then brought the whole wavefront.obj files into Photoshop to arrange them, texture coloring and layered a massive amount of blending modes on top.
The Morphing is fine since I made it showing the process of the acacia thorn branch slowly becoming heavier and heavier into the shape of the wheel, under the influence of the chemical fluid. I think I can try to work on that in my own time. So far, it is really nice to know that I worked with digital materials much better than I thought I could and I’m glad with the final outcome of hardworking randomness.
